Tillandsia clumps

Tillandsia clumps are larger collections or ‘clusters’ of several tillandsia plants that have grown close together. The word ‘clump’ originally comes from the Scandinavian language and refers to a tight group - in the case of tillandsias, it means a group of several rosettes (individual plants) that have formed through natural propagation via suckers (side shoots). The cluster often grows in a spherical or hanging shape.

Some clumps form naturally, others are deliberately planted or tied together by growers to achieve this effect. In any case, they are considered particularly beautiful collector's items.
