grey Tillandsias

Here you will find grey tillandsias, often categorised as dry or desert tillandsias. They usually originate from dry, sunny areas, e.g. deserts or high altitudes. They need a lot of light (although be careful in direct sunlight) and less water. They are visually recognisable by their rather silvery-grey to grey-green leaves. This colour is due to the many trichomes (small scaly hairs) that absorb water and nutrients from the air. The leaves often have a velvety or rough appearance.
