Tillandsia ionantha var. druid is a rare, naturally occurring color variant of the well-known Tillandsia ionantha. It was discovered in Mexico and is notable for its unusually bright coloring. The name "druid" refers to the mysterious, almost mystical appearance during flowering. Features: Tillandsia ionantha var. druid forms small, compact rosettes with silvery-green, slightly curved leaves. During flowering, the inner leaves do not turn red, but instead become cream-white to slightly yellowish. The tubular flowers are also unusual: they appear in delicate white to pale lavender – a distinct difference from the violet flowers of the standard form. The plant grows slowly and produces offsets after flowering. Care instructions: Light: Very bright to sunny – good light conditions promote flowering enthusiasm. Water: Spray 2–3 times per week or occasionally soak. Allow to dry well afterward. Humidity: Medium to high (50–70%) – air circulation is essential. Fertilizer: In spring and summer, 1–2 times per month with our special Tillandsia or orchid fertilizer in diluted form. Temperature: 16–30 °C, robust – can be kept frost-free for short periods down to about 5 °C.
